Hi All, This is what I have been doing in the last week on Hamsat .....

I have now worked VK3KOS Rob, VK3KAI Peter, VK3YFL Brian, VK3UH Len, VK3FI Norm, VK4JWT John, ZL2VAL Alan, ZL1AOX Ian, VK3FGN Noel, VK4ZQ Roy, VK2TS Tony, VK1ZQR Rob on the new Indian Hamsat. The beacon is on 145.936 ( unmodulated carrier ). The center frequency up is 435.250 and the down link center frequency is 145.900.( 60 Kc wide )  I am running a IC402 to a small 10w amp to 20 elements on 435.250 LSB and recieve a FT101zd to a FTV250 Transverter to 11 element beam USB around 145.900. I have elevation and directional control. Signals are quite good but the doppler shift on a overhead
pass is hard to get used to. Finally mode B saterllites are the easyest and the best to go. I am on weekend passes over VK day and night. Well done Hamsat !

Congratulations on the successful launch and commissioning of HAMSAT VO52. The satellite is attracting many users on passes across North America, sometimes to the extent that there is QRM in the passband. I find that I must reduce my transmitter power to minimum (about 5 watts) and even then I am in danger of overloading the satellite unless I slightly off-point my antennas. It is very sensitive and easy for even modest stations to work.

My first QSO was 15 May with VE6EGN in DO23. In the week since I have worked over a dozen other stations on SSB, including some on both the east and west coasts -- and this with limited operating time due to work commitments. Thank you for a very nice new satellite.
