India's first Hamsat VO-52 played a role in
celebrating the ITU's 140th birthday on Tuesday the
17th of May, less than two weeks after its launch.
Special event station AX3ITU on World
Telecommunications Day was active through the
satellite on three passes over Australia. Noel
Ferguson VK3FI, a member of Amateur Radio Victoria,
was signing AX3ITU on 17th May.
I had a pleasure working Noel at 00:52 and 14:17 utc
passes.He had quite a strong signal and was easy to
work. There was a number of VK's who worked him as
well.
