Pleased to report my first satellite QSO.
Ofcourse it was on VO-52, Hamsat.
Many thanks to VU2GUR, my first Sat QSO station.

I rcvd and Txed on two separate handies.
For the uplink (on 435.250) I used about 1 watt from the handy to a 6 element home brew beam for UHF which i built yesterday, and for downlink (on 145.905) I used a 5/8 mag mount whip for VHF kept on the terrace floor for Rx. This was the reason for my poor copy.

For the UHF antenna tracking/rotor I used my XYL :)

I also copied VU2LFA, and some other DX station calling CQ, but never copied his call. Also heard some one sending some carrier / DTMF tones in between.

Dear All

Today 10th of May at 10.45 BST during the pass over Dhaka, Bangladesh I received HAMSAT signal. A QSO between VU2HFR (Kolkata) and VU2JOS (Hyderabad) was going. Signal report was 58, 59 for 1 minute.

My working condition was Yaesu FT-50R with it's built in telescopic antenna. I was receiving the signal from roof of 5th floor.

Best '73 and hope to work with HAMSAT.
